Vienna – The Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna, organized an event to commemorate “Kashmir Black Day”

Report: Muhammad Amir Siddique Journalist Vienna Austria. on 27 October 2025, the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna, organized an event to commemorate “Kashmir Black Day” which was attended by the members of civil society, scholars and representatives of Pakistani community and Kashmiri community.

Ms. Syeda Mubashra Arooj, Third Secretary, performed the duties of the stage secretary and delivered welcome remarks on the occasion. The recitation of the Holy Quran was performed by Manzoor Riaz.

Messages of President, read by His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar and Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister messeges read by Mr. Junaid Suleman, First Secretary.

During the event, messages from the President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were also read. During the event, a documentary regarding the historical significance of Kashmir Black Day was also screened. In his remarks, the His Excellency Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Mohammed Kamran Akhtar Malik stated that 27 October 1947, when the Indian troops illegally occupied the Jammu and Kashmir, will always be remembered as dark day in the history. In the last seventy-eight years, the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have suffered a systematic and relentless campaign of tyranny, oppression and subjugation at the hands of Indian occupation forces.

He also called on the international community to take notice of India’s brazen violation of numerous United Nation’s Security Council’s resolutions calling for UN-supervised plebiscite to determine the status of Jammu and Kashmir.

In light of the recent hostilities between Pakistan and India, the Ambassador emphasized that enduring peace and stability in South Asia depend on identifying a lasting solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue, in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continuous moral and diplomatic support for the just struggle for freedom of Kashmiri Muslims in IIOJK.

Distinguished members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community residing in Austria and Slovakia also highlighted the inhuman treatment of Kashmiris in the hands of Indian occupying forces.

27 October is observed all over the world as ‘Black Day’. On this day in 1947, India, against the wishes of Kashmiri Muslims, forcibly and illegally occupied the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, the Indian Occupation Forces have been mercilessly killing innocent and unarmed Kashmiris, vandalizing their properties and committing widespread violations of human rights.

Among the speakers who gave their special remarks on behalf of the Pakistani community and International community. Professor Shaukat Awan, Chairman, Kashmir Freedom Front, Austria and Engr Arif Şen (Austrian National having Turkish roots), President of the European Turkish Youth Association [TBC]. Finally, the Embassy of Pakistan arranged refreshments for everyone.
