Ambassador Syed Haider Shah participated in a panel discussion at Leiden University titled “Water Security and Climate Adaptation Post-COP30: Bridging Global Commitments and Local Realities.”

Holland (  daily Roshni News International  ….. press release of Embassy of pakistan the hague) Hosted by BASIS South and Southeast Asia Committee Board at the Wijnhaven Building on 28 November 2025, the session brought together diplomats, academics, and climate experts to unpack the implications of COP30 for climate-vulnerable countries, especially, Pakistan.

Ambassador Shah highlighted Pakistan’s frontline experience with climate impacts, stressing the urgent need to translate global adaptation commitments into practical, equitable, and well-financed solutions on the ground. He underscored the importance of water security, resilience-building, and empowering communities most affected by climate disruptions.

The discussion also explored climate justice, regional cooperation, and opportunities for strengthening governance and technical collaboration.

The Embassy thanks Leiden University and fellow panelists, Dr. David Zetland and Prof. Dr. Diana Suhardiman for an engaging exchange on one of the most pressing challenges of our time.
