Vienna – Two Days Exhibition ‘Art for Global Peace’ Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in the (VIC),United Nations.

Vienna – 30 October 2025, the Pakistani His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar and Permanent Representative inaugurated a two-day art exhibition under the theme “Art for Global Peace,” organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna at the Vienna International Centre (VIC),United Nations Office at Vienna.

The event was graced by Mr. Christoph Meyenburg, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, as the chief guest.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar stated that the exhibition was inspired by the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to global peace, justice, and prosperity. Reflecting on Pakistan’s rich artistic heritage, he highlighted that the works on display represent values of pluralism, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance, expressing Pakistan’s aspiration for a world free from violence, fear, and want. He also emphasized the unifying power of art in transcending borders and uniting humanity.

The Chief Guest greatly admired the creativity and diversity of the Pakistani artists, praising their ability to blend traditional and contemporary themes to promote dialogue and mutual understanding.

The exhibition was attended by a large number of diplomats, UN officials and Austrian citizens who greatly appreciated the initiative taken by the Embassy of Pakistan. The exhibition comprises three segments: classic and contemporary art, “Truck Art” (a globally acclaimed folk art form of Pakistani origin), and “Mountains of Peace,” which highlights the rich mountaineering and tourism potential of Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.

Running from 30 to 31 October 2025 at the VIC, the exhibition seeks to harness the soft power of art to further global peace through multilateralism, empathy, and unity. Through vibrant artistic expressions, the artists have depicted the shared desire for peace and harmony across South, Central, and West Asia.
