The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of China under the theme “Promoting Global Development and Governance through Vienna-based organizations”. The event was also attended by Permanent Representatives of different countries including high ranking officials of Vienna based multilateral organizations like IAEA, UNODC, UNIDO, UNOOSA, CTBTO.

His Excellency Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, Permanent Representative of Pakistan participated in an event organized by the Permanent Mission of China under the theme “Promoting Global Development and Governance through Vienna-based organizations. The Ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s support for Chinese President’s initiatives like Global Development Initiative (GDI) & Global Governance Initiative (GGI) and termed them quite timely and essential to promote development and prosperity among the developing world.Every aspect of work at Vienna-based organizations connects to the SDGs—economic growth, sustainability, and societal uplift are all interlinked. Recognizing these connections helps unify and energize development efforts globally.

According to him, sustainable development requires a unified vision and commons goals. Vienna-based agencies like UNIDO, IAEA, CTBTO, UNODC, and UNOOSA play a vital technical role, bridging global efforts with action-oriented mandates. In his statement, the Permanent Representative stated that  global development remains a top priority for developing nations. Our interconnected world means progress depends on collective action and international partnerships for capacity-building and technical assistance.
