Pakistan Highlighted in the Flemish Parliament — A Milestone for Diplomatic Engagement
In a significant diplomatic development, Dr. Perveiz Iqbal Lohsar )Tamgha-I-Khidmat), Chairman of the EU-Pak Friendship Federation Europe, paid a visit to the Flemish Parliament in Brussels — widely regarded as one of the richest parliaments in the world.
Dr. Lohsar was warmly received by Mr. M’Hamed Kasmi, Member of the Flemish Parliament. The meeting marked the fourth session in the “Mission Pakistan” series, aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s image and strengthening its international partnerships.
During the meeting, Dr. Lohsar provided a comprehensive briefing on the current Pakistan-India situation, with particular focus on the post-conflict developments. Mr. Kasmi commended Pakistan’s measured and strategic response during and after the war with India, describing Pakistan as a “responsible and sober nation on the global stage.”
Dr. Lohsar also highlighted the recent successful visit of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, to the United States, underscoring its significance in reinforcing Pakistan’s international relations.
The two leaders discussed future investment opportunities in Pakistan, with emphasis on trade and economic collaboration. Additionally, Dr. Lohsar informed Mr. Kasmi about an upcoming international seminar being organized by the EU-Pak Friendship Federation Europe on “Changing Geopolitical Dynamics of the World.”
This historic visit marks the first-ever official presence of a Pakistani representative in the Flemish Parliament, reflecting growing diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and European legislative bodies.
Chaudhry Ali Lohsar, nominated Member of the Brussels Parliament, was also present during the meeting, further emphasizing the strengthening ties between Pakistani diaspora leadership and European institutions.
